About
Mission
Friends of the Kane County Child Advocacy Center is a dedicated nonprofit committed to supporting children and their families who were victimized in Kane County. We understand many children face victimization by loved ones in familiar settings, which can lead to significant emotional and financial challenges for them and their families as they move to heal from what happened to them. We recognize that the prosecution process can be timely resulting in a loss of crucial income for families, as well as time away from work and school adding to stress during an already difficult time.
That's where Friends steps in. We help cover the cost of counseling services for victims and their families as well as pay for Merit exams so that every child knows their bodies are okay after what happens. We also offer comfort items to help children feel secure and supported, while also assisting families with financial needs as they work to rebuild their lives. Our mission is to create a nurturing environment where children can thrive despite their past experiences. Together, we strive to empower families and ensure that no child has to continue suffering once they take the first step to speak about their abuse.
Vision
Our vision is to provide ongoing support for victims even after prosecution has concluded. We aim to raise funds that will ensure continued counseling services and create opportunities for victims to develop positive outlets. By empowering them, we help enhance their sense of self and foster a path toward success and healing. Together, we can make a lasting difference in their lives.
